Churchgate Group

Churchgate Group
The Churchgate Group was founded in 1968, to boost the industrial and trading sectors of Nigeria’s economy. The company embarked on several greenfield projects in varied industries and acquired several more companies when Nigeria went through its privatisation process. Slowly but surely, they succeeded in becoming one of the leading industrial conglomerates in the country.

In addition to their focus on Industries they also secured a significant market share in the trading of commodities; this continued to be one of their core businesses over the years.

Building on their core strengths, goodwill and expertise they have now made considerable inroads into the real estate, banking and financial sectors. They intend to approach these areas with planned development and calculated growth while maintaining the superior standards and performance expected of them. They are also committed to upholding environmental and ethical best practices.

Currently, the Group is investing in hospitality, residential and commercial real estate and is regarded as a premier and quality developer within Nigeria. They have also acquired core investor positions in two leading Nigerian banks and have a team of financial experts who manage and invest their own proprietary funds. All this, they see as the beginning of an exciting journey ahead. They intend to focus their efforts on what they view as the key drivers of an emerging economy.

The Churchgate group has become one of Nigeria’s premier conglomerates and has been a leading force of corporate activity for the past 40 years. The Group has always reflected the spirit of the times; their initial focus in the 60's and the 70's was in manufacturing and in trading, areas where they achieved pre-eminent positions. With the emergence of new growth segments in the 80's, they ventured into the banking and finance arena. Their latest foray has been in real estate development, which is likely to become one of the key focus areas for the group.

With assets in excess of one billion dollars in Nigeria alone, property holdings that cross 1.7 million square meters, The Churchgate Group has firmly established itself as a multi-faceted business house.
