Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed
Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed born on the 29th of December 1963 is the current governor of Kwara state. He won the April 26th 2011 elections on the platform of the peoples democratic party(PDP).
After a highly successful Banking career, Alhaji Ahmed was appointed pioneer Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development at the inception of Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki’s Administration in 2003 – a position he held until late 2009 when he was moved to head a newly created Ministry of Planning and Economic Development as Commissioner.
During these years, Alhaji Ahmed was also appointed Treasurer, forum of Commissioners of Finance in Nigeria for six (6) years. He was also Chairman, Budget Formulation Committee and Economic Team of Kwara State.
He is member, board of directors, International Aviation College, Ilorin; Chairman, Millennium Development Goals (MDG/CGS) implementation committee and Chairman Shonga Farms Holdings Ltd.
