Aero Contractors Company of Nigeria Limited was formed in 1959 and officially registered in 1960 to operate domestic and international scheduled services, air taxi, charter and third party aircraft operations, largely in support of Nigeria's extensive oil and gas industry.

Over the years,Aero has become a well respected aviation service provider in the rotary wing (helicopter) offshore oil and gas sector plus the fixed wing scheduled and charter passenger sector .  Aero is uniquely placed in the Nigerian market to offer both rotary and fixed wing services to the highest international standards of safety
Currently the fastest growing Nigerian carrier passenger, Aero is focused on bringing customers world class aviation services with affordable fares, quality on-board services, good customer relations with effective online services and operational competence. Aero’s technical support offered by the Canadian Helicopters Corporation (CHC), the world’s largest commercial helicopter operator has continued to contribute to its leadership role in the aviation Industry in Nigeria.

Aero operates a combined fleet of around 20 helicopters and 15 fixed wing aircraft ranging from 50 seats Dash 8 to 144 seats Boeing 737-400/500, employing about 1,300 personnel.
