Nexans Kabelmetal Nigeria Plc is the largest manufacturer of power, instrumentation and telecommunication cables in the West African sub region.
The company is the first cable manufacturer to be ISO 9000 certified in Nigeria. They are also the first Nigerian Industrial Standards (NIS) Gold Award winner for cables. Their products are in conformance to IEC standards, Nigerian Industrial Standards and BS standards for some specific products.
Falling back on the parent company’s cable making expertise of over 100 years and local manufacturing experience of over 35 years, the company provides the nerves and sinews of the Nigerian economy.
At the beginning of 1980-s the development of cross linked polyethylene (XLPE) low voltage insulated cables opened the door to new market segments including the oil and gas market.
The introduction of air field lighting cables and cables with enhanced fire performance features over the following years further strengthened their product range and expanded their customer base of power and telecom utilities, business and residential construction companies and also various manufacturing and process industries
Nexan  products are Power Network Cabling such as Low and Medium Voltage Cables, High and Extra-High Voltage Cables up to 400 kV, Special cables as well as complete systems and installations. Telecom Network cabling like copper and optical fiber cables, and associated interconnect solutions, like jointing and splicing boxes etc
